Internet & Cable TV Money Saving Tips
We have lived in the same place now for a year and the promotion for the Cable TV we had expired and our bill for internet and Cable increased $75. We only have 3 options in the neighborhood we lived in and I was on a mission to find the best deal. I called each one at least 2 times. My husband followed my calls, and much to my surprise each time he was quoted a lower price. Therefore, my first tip is to spend the time to call several times to speak to different customer service agents in hopes of finding the best deal.
Other ways you can save is by having your own modem and DVR (if compatible) – This save you from the monthly rental fees for these items. You can also ask for an installation discount, promotions, rebates, rewards, and military discounts. As military, make sure they have the military clause in the contract and ask if it is month to month, yearly or a multi-year contract.
If you have a TV in a room you don’t use often like a guest room, consider buying an Amazon Fire TV Stick versus having to pay for a cable receiver. We have the Amazon Fire TV Stick on our Garage TV. Fire TV Stick connects to your TV’s HDMI port. It’s an easy way to enjoy over 4,000 channels, apps, and games including access to over 250,000 TV episodes and more. You can Bring Fire TV Stick with you to watch your favorites away from home, even in hotels and dorm rooms. We found by switching to another carrier we saved $20 from the one year promotion for a $95 savings. I have also noticed our service seems to be better; we had issues with the internet dropping before.
